Tradecraft & Vocabulary

308 glossary terms — trademarks, agents, philosophy.

resolveTicketRef

Shared helper (src/lib/) that turns a typed or AI-produced ticket reference into a ticket: exact, case-insensitive match on number or original_number within the tenant, as typed first and then digits-only; never a %…% substring match; asks when more than one matches. Introduced in the Cutover Test Fixes, 2026-09-28 (PSA-216).

intel_modifiers

Internal-only array of behavior modifier tags on a contact record. Values: decision_maker, gatekeeper, influencer, scope_creeper, slow_pay, cheapskate, great_client, get_it_in_writing, documentation_heavy. Multi-select (unlike intel_disposition which is single). NEVER exposed to portal.

intel_disposition

Internal-only contact personality classification. Values: easy (friendly), difficult (tends to escalate), eggshells (handle very carefully), quiet (hard to read), performative (complains loudly but rarely escalates). Stored on contacts table. NEVER exposed to client portal. Displayed in Helix staff UI via ContactIntelBadges with showIntel=true gate.

cAND/or Intelligence Administration (CIA™)

Platform-level moderation body for the SIG network — reviews burn notices (Day 7 of the 30-day cooling period) and ensures network quality/trust.

cAND/or (Name)

cAND/or contains three meanings simultaneously: (1) Candor — the professional principle: honesty, directness, and the courage to communicate what the client needs to hear in the way they can actually hear it. (2) C AND/OR — the boolean logic of The Three Laws evaluated as conditions: Is this professional truthful AND proactively intelligent AND face-saving? (3) AND is DNA spelled backward — the third strand mutation is encoded in the company name itself. Pronunciation: always 'candor'. The capitalization and slash are visual identity, not pronunciation cues. NOTE (Jerry, 2026-07-12): Law 3 is TRUTH, not "Trust" — which is why 'candor' is the perfect name for the company: candor IS truth-telling. Trust is the outcome candor earns.

cAND/or

The software company behind Helix PSA. Pronounced 'candor.' Three meanings: (1) Candor — honesty, directness, the courage to communicate what the client needs to hear; (2) C AND/OR — the boolean logic of the Three Laws evaluated as conditions; (3) AND is DNA spelled backward — the mutation is in the name. We did not engineer that. We discovered it.

active_timers

Table: active_timers. One row per active timer (unique on tech_id + ticket_id). Fields: tenant_id, ticket_id, tech_id, started_at. Populated by start_ticket_timer, cleared by stop_ticket_timer. RLS-protected at tenant level.

Workover

Well re-entry or repair operation to restore or improve a well's production. Requires a workover rig. Common operations: replace worn tubing and rods, replace pump, clean out sand or paraffin, plug back perforations and re-perforate a new interval, acidize or fracture stimulate the formation. For dormant well reactivation: typical workover includes pulling and inspecting tubing, replacing pump, swab test to assess reservoir response, then run new equipment. Cost $15,000-$80,000 depending on depth and operations.

Working Interest (WI)

Working Interest. The percentage share of a well's production costs and revenues an investor or operator holds. Must pay their proportionate share of LOE, workover costs, and capital costs. Receives their NRI share of production revenue. Example: if a well has 3 WI owners at 50%/30%/20%, the 50% owner pays 50% of all costs and receives 50% x NRI in revenue. Landmen acquire working interest through lease acquisition and sometimes through farmout agreements.

Witness Record

The immutable row (witness_records) produced when a customer signs on the Capture Surface: signature image, SHA-256 hash of the exact clause text signed, timestamps, device and session lineage. No delete policy exists; ticket linkage may be set exactly once while NULL (pre-save signing). Stamped onto the ticket as intake_signed_at / intake_witness_id.

Whistle Model (The Coach™)

The Coach™ sound doctrine: the whistle is an ALERT, never an acknowledgement — it plays when something new arrives that the user hasn't been told about (realtime insert, or on app open when unread alerts postdate the per-user watermark coach_alerts_seen_at), accompanied by a 15-cycle green/red button flash at 1s intervals. Sound fires only for concern/alert/intervention-tier alerts addressed to that user (or their role) and respects the per-user mute; observations flash silently. Opening the panel stops the flash, advances the watermark, and plays nothing.

Watch Mode

A live monitoring view subscribing to all chat_messages for the tenant, with an Agents Only / All Traffic toggle — purple dot indicates an agent message, primary color indicates a human.
